| Man killed in New London shooting The scene was secured by police, and a canvass of the area began as police search for the suspect. New London police detectives along with the Connecticut State Police-Eastern District Major Crime Squad and the New London States Attorney's office responded to investigate the incident.

| Police Respond to Shooting at Hartford Restaurant A second person, a woman, also was injured, but not from gunshot wounds, police said. It is unclear if the injured man was an employee of the restaurant. Police said they believe the shootings stemmed from an aborted robbery attempt.The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
